칠흑 같은 밤 홀로 우는 달

The moon crying alone on a pitch-black night

그 빛 따라 네가 피고 질까

Will you bloom and fade according to that light?

시간을 거슬러 저 새들처럼

Back in time like those birds

훨훨 더 높이 날아가

fly far higher

아리따웠던 순간의 떨림

The trembling of a beautiful moment

나를 감싸던 따스한 두 손이 그리워져

I miss the warm hands that embraced me

또 찾게 돼 널 덧없이 기다려

I will find you again, waiting for you in vain

시간 따라 흘러가리라

time will pass

바람 따라 떠나간 너의 빈자리

Your empty seat left with the wind

너는 마치 홀로 피는 꽃

You are like a flower that blooms alone

검은 구름아 저 달빛을 가려다오

Black cloud, cover that moonlight

한밤에 밤에 핀 눈부신 빛처럼

Like a dazzling light that blooms at night in the middle of the night

달빛에 반해 핀 하이얀 꽃처럼

Like a white flower that blooms in love with the moonlight

한순간 사라진 하룻밤 꿈처럼

Like a dream that disappeared overnight

별 따라가다 십 리도 못 가라

Follow the stars, I can't even go ten miles

한밤에 밤에 핀 눈부신 빛처럼

Like a dazzling light that blooms at night in the middle of the night

달빛에 반해 핀 하이얀 꽃처럼

Like a white flower that blooms in love with the moonlight

한순간 사라진 하룻밤 꿈처럼

Like a dream that disappeared overnight

달 아래 너는 참 아름답구나

You are so beautiful under the moon

눈을 가려도 아름다워 넌

You are beautiful even when you close your eyes

나를 바라보는 널 끌어안을 때

When I embrace you as you look at me

바람마저 널 찾아 오매불망인데

Even the wind is looking for you

홀린 듯 밤을 새 헤매인다

I wander through the night as if possessed

가리워지는 너의 뒷모습

Your back is hidden

붙잡지 못한 우리 이야기

our story we couldn't catch

되돌린다면 다시 한번

If you go back, once again

말할 수 있을 텐데

I could say

시간 따라 흘러가리라

time will pass

바람 따라 널 따라가

follow you with the wind

너는 마치 홀로 피는 꽃

You are like a flower that blooms alone

검은 구름아 저 달빛을 가려다오

Black cloud, cover that moonlight

한밤에 밤에 핀 눈부신 빛처럼

달 아래 너는 참 아름답구나

You are so beautiful under the moon

널 찾아 헤매다

looking for you

무심코 지나친 꽃이 참 예쁘구나

The flowers that I inadvertently passed are so pretty

그게 바로 너였구나

that was you

금세 꺼지고 부는 찬 바람 같아

It goes out quickly and is like a cold wind blowing

후하면 날아가 먼지같이

Fly away like dust

손이 닿을 듯 말 듯한 꽃잎들아

Petals as if they could be touched

다시금 내게로 오라

come to me again

바람아 불어라

blow the wind

끝내 말하지 못한 이 말 전해다오

Please tell me these words I never said

한밤에 밤에 핀 눈부신 빛처럼

Like a dazzling light that blooms at night in the middle of the night

달빛에 반해 핀 하이얀 꽃처럼

Like a white flower that blooms in love with the moonlight

AVICII WAKE ME UP WITH INDONESIAN TRANSLATION

Song: Wake Me Up

Artist: Avicii

Album: True

Released: 2013

Genres: Electronic dance music, Folktronica, Dance/Electronic

Feeling my way through the darkness

Merasakan langkah saya menuju kegelapan

Guided by a beating heart

Dipandu oleh detak jantung

I can't tell where the journey will end

Saya tidak tahu di mana perjalanan akan berakhir

But I know where to start

Tapi saya tahu harus mulai dari mana

They tell me I'm too young to understand

Mereka bilang aku terlalu muda untuk mengerti

They say I'm caught up in a dream

Mereka bilang aku terjebak dalam mimpi

Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes

Yah, hidup akan berlalu begitu saja jika saya tidak membuka mata saya

Well that's fine by me

Saya tidak keberatan

[2x]

So wake me up when it's all over

Jadi bangunkan aku ketika semuanya berakhir

When I'm wiser and I'm older

Ketika aku lebih bijak dan lebih tua

All this time I was finding myself

Selama ini aku menemukan diriku sendiri

And I didn't know I was lost

Dan aku tidak tahu aku tersesat

I tried carrying the weight of the world

Saya mencoba membawa beban dunia

But I only have two hands

Tapi aku hanya punya dua tangan

Hope I get the chance to travel the world

Semoga saya mendapat kesempatan untuk berkeliling dunia

But I don't have any plans

Tapi aku tidak punya rencana

Wish that I could stay forever this young

Berharap bahwa saya bisa tinggal selamanya muda ini

Not afraid to close my eyes

Tidak takut memejamkan mata

Life's a game made for everyone

Hidup adalah permainan yang dibuat untuk semua orang

And love is the prize

Dan cinta adalah hadiahnya

[2x]

So wake me up when it's all over

Jadi bangunkan aku ketika semuanya berakhir

When I'm wiser and I'm older

Ketika aku lebih bijak dan lebih tua

All this time I was finding myself

Selama ini aku menemukan diriku sendiri

And I didn't know I was lost

Dan aku tidak tahu aku tersesat

Didn't know I was lost

Tidak tahu aku tersesat

I didn't know I was lost

Saya tidak tahu saya tersesat

I didn't know I was lost

Saya tidak tahu saya tersesat

I didn't know (didn't know, didn't know)

Saya tidak tahu (tidak tahu, tidak tahu)

DAY6 (데이식스) LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME WITH ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Song: Love Me or Leave Me

Artist: Day6 (데이식스)

Album: The Book of Us: The Demon

Released: 2020

모든 건 너에게 달렸어

It's all up to you.

난 지켜볼 수 밖에 없어

I have no choice but to watch

끝이 날 건지 아닌지는

Whether to finish it or not

너의 말 한마디로 결정돼

It's all up to you now.

여태 받던 싸늘한 느낌

The coldness that I've been feeling all this time

그저 착각일지도

Maybe it's just an illusion.

여기서 알아야 갈 수 있어

We need to know from here before we can get there.

Do you even love me now

Do you even love me now

숨을 죽이고 너의 대답을 기다릴게

I'll hold my breath as I wait for your answer.

턴을 너에게 넘긴 채로

I'll leave it up to you,

만약 아니라 하더라도 말해 줘

Tell me whether it's YES or NO

Baby love me or leave me tonight

Baby, love me or leave me tonight

So 대답해 줘

So answer me.

숨김 없이 솔직하게

with all honesty

어서 대답해 줘

Tell me everything right now

Baby love me or leave me tonight

Baby love me or leave me tonight

So tell me now

So tell me now

꽤나 오랫동안 견뎠어

I've endured it for quite a while

너의 차가운 눈빛과 말투

The coldness in your eyes and words

끝을 낼 건지 아닌지는

Whether to finish it or not

이제 너에게 전부 달렸어

It's all up to you now.

이미 멀어진 우리 사이

We're already growing apart

그저 오해일지도

Maybe it's just a misunderstanding.

여기서 알아야 갈 수 있어

We need to know from here before we can get there

Do you even love me now

Do you even love me now

숨을 죽이고 너의 대답을 기다릴게

I'll hold my breath as I wait for your answer

턴을 너에게 넘긴 채로

I'll leave it up to you,

만약 아니라 하더라도 말해 줘

Tell me whether it's YES or NO

Baby love me or leave me tonight

Baby, love me or leave me tonight

So 대답해 줘

So answer me.

숨김 없이 솔직하게

with all honesty

어서 대답해 줘

Tell me everything right now

Baby love me or leave me tonight

Baby love me or leave me tonight

알아 이미 너의 대답은 No

I already know that your answer is no

나도 알아 이미 안다고 알아도

But I pretend that I don't, though I already knew it

아직까진 I cannot give up on you

I can't give up on you yet

너의 목소리로 듣기 전까지는

Until I hear you say it to me

Can't give up on you

Can't give up on you

숨을 죽이고 너의 대답을 기다릴게

I'll hold my breath as I wait for your answer

턴을 너에게 넘긴 채로

I'll leave it up to you

만약 아니라 하더라도 말해 줘

Tell me whether it's YES or NO

Baby love me or leave me tonight

Baby, love me or leave me tonight

So 대답해 줘

So answer me

숨김 없이 솔직하게

Tell me everything right now

Baby love me or leave me tonight

2 Common Mistakes in English

(gambar https://www.londonschool.com/nordic/blogg/nice-ways-say-youre-wrong-english/)

1. Return back vs Return

Mana nih yang kalau udah pake return tapi masih dikasih back belakangnya? Ini keliru, ya. Return sendiri artinya adalah "kembali" jadinya tidak perlu lagi pakai back. Nah, jadi sekarang jangan bilang Olivia has returned back to school tapi bilang Olivia has returned to school.

2. Using Double Comparative

Comparative itu apa sih? Dari Grammarly, comparative digunakan untuk membandingkan antara dua benda. Apa saja comparative itu? Ada stronger, taller, shorter, etc. Nah, lalu apa yang dimaksud dengan double comparative? Coba deh perhatikan contoh berikut.

Adam is more stronger than Edy vs Adam is stronger than Edy.

Yup! Benar. Kata more di sana juga berperan sebagai comparative begitu pula stronger. Kalau memakai keduanya, maka kalimat kita jadi salah.

Perbedaan antara Its dan It's

(gambar https://www.teachstarter.com/us/teaching-resource/its-or-its-poster-and-worksheet/)

Sebenarnya mudah saja membedakan keduanya, yang satu sebagai possessive pronoun sedangkan yang satunya lagi adalah contraction. Kata its sendiri biasanya diperuntukkan kepada kepemilikan yang mana biasanya lebih digunakan untuk binatang atau benda mati. Contohnya,

the cat is smelling its food.

Lalu bagaimana dengan it's? Nah, it's sendiri adalah singkatan dari it is atau it has. Lalu cara membedakan kapan dia adalah it is dan kapan dia adalah it has? Cukup perhatikan tenses dalam kalimatnya saja. Contohnya,

A: the cat is sleeping, so it's not going to eat.

B : how long has the cat been sleeping?

C : it's been sleeping since three hours ago.

Nah, itu dia sekilas penjelasan mengenai its dan it's. Terima kasih! Nantikan postingan selanjutnya!

What is Articulatory Phonetics?

Sumber gambar https://id.pinterest.com/pin/5136987062770483/

Articulatory Phonetics

All the sounds we make when we speak are the result of muscles contracting. The muscles in the chest that we use for breathing produce the flow of air that is needed for almost all speech sounds; muscles in the larynx produce many different modifications in the flow of air from the chest to the mouth. After passing through the larynx, the air goes through what we call the vocal tract, which ends at the mouth and nostrils;

🌟 We call the part comprising the mouth "The Oral Cavity".

and

🌟 The part that leads to the nostrils "The Nasal Cavity"

Here the air from the lungs escapes into the atmosphere. We have a large and complex set of muscles that can produce changes in the shape of the vocal tract, and in order to learn how the sounds of speech are produced it is necessary to become familiar with the different parts of the vocal tract.  These different parts are called articulators, and the study of them is called articulatory phonetics.

Accent vs. Dialect

Sumber gambar https://id.pinterest.com/pin/314618723974665181/

#Accent vs. #Dialect

The word accent is often confused with dialect. The word "dialect" refers to a variety of a language which is different from others in pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and word order.  The word "accent", on the other hand, refers to pronunciation differences only.

Stress and Intonation

Sumber gambar https://id.pinterest.com/pin/602778731374329609/

#Stress: is the relative strength of a syllable.

#Intonation: is the use of the pitch of the voice to convey meaning.

As an example of stress, consider the difference between the pronunciation of "contract" as a noun (‘they signed a contract) and "contract" as a verb (it started to contract).

In the former, the stress is on the first syllable, while in the latter it is on the second syllable.  In General, the stress goes on the first syllable in nouns and on the second syllable in verbs.

A possible example of intonation would be the different pitch movements on the word "well" said as an exclamation and as a question: in the first case the pitch will usually fall from high to low, while in the second it will rise from low to high.

WHAT IS PHONEMES?

Sumber gambar https://id.pinterest.com/pin/13721973852638170/

Phonemes

In any language we can identify a small number of regularly used sounds (vowels and consonants) that we call phonemes; for example, the vowels in the words ‘pin’ and ‘pen’ are different phonemes, and so are the consonants at the beginning of the words ‘pet’ and ‘bet’.

Because of the notoriously confusing nature of English spelling, it is particularly important to learn to think of English pronunciation in terms of phonemes rather than letters of the alphabet. So, a phoneme is the smallest unit of sound in a word that makes a difference in its pronunciation, as well as its meaning, from another word. For instance, the /s/ in ‘soar’ distinguishes it from /r/ in ‘roar’, as it becomes different from ‘soar’ in pronunciation as well as meaning.
